Maracuya is based on the idea that what makes human societies strong is trust - not only between individuals, but inside a group of friends and friends-of-friends.
This enables calculating a reputation score that robustly stops harassment and spam from reaching you - including large scale botnets.
These ideas have been proven in the past, both mathematically and in practice: by the Advogato network, which has strongly inspired our work.
